He was working off some loans with Sophie and she fears he has stolen money. Then she finds out that the IRS is going to perform an audit and is afraid she will lose her business. So what does Sophie do? But before the night is over she has an accident and finds herself in another time period: it is now and the Civil War ended three months ago.
She finds herself saved from a tragic moment by a farmer, Gabriel, and a mute twelve year old girl. Suspend your disbelief because the heroine, for most of the story, comes across as whiny and abrasive. She is scared and this is the way she handles her fear; her mouth rules her actions.
She wants nothing more than to return to the present time. The plot felt disted, the heroine was unlikable, and there was very little chemistry between Sophie and Gabriel. Nothing seemed to click.
When you mix the chick-lit genre with a time-travel, fantasy, and historical romance theme you are playing with fire. It takes some skill to make it work. First and foremost, you have to make the characters believable. And you have to make the reader care about what happens to them.
Neither of those ideas worked for me. The author took a hodgepodge of genres, melted them together and made the story work. I rated it five stars and consider it a keeper. Not so with this second story, I trudged through the book. I hoped against hope that it would get better. It didn't. And unfortunately, I am no longer excited enough to continue with the series. Bella you were so creative and it was a very refreshing book to read!! Well Worth it!!
On to book 2 in this series!! I already have a feeling it will compliment the next! View all 4 comments. Jul 19, Namrata Ganti rated it it was amazing. I loved this story. It is a lovely romance novel filled with magic and the message that finding a soul mate knows no boundary of time. Sophie time travels from the future to the past at the exact moment that she wishes her life to be different. At the same time that she appears in the past, a 12 year old girl turns up by her side and they are found by Gabriel who is himself on the verge of ending his life.
This is the period after the civil war and true to his time he is a strong believer in God I loved this story. This is the period after the civil war and true to his time he is a strong believer in God and a follower of principles.
Finding the two girls he takes them in going against the way of society and inviting a lot of criticism. This story deals with how each character faces their troubled thoughts and learn to accept and realise who they really are. Sophie names the girl Angela and finds a kind of connection with her even though the girl refuses to speak. There is something mysterious about her which will cause the reader to keep questioning her existence until the very end.
Through a lot of ups and downs, Sophie and Gabriel end up getting married as Gabriel says its the right thing to do since Sophie is living in his house. Eventually the two of them realise that they love each other but it takes Sophie travelling back to the future for them too truly realise how much their love has grown.
When Gabriel turns up in the future, it proves that love knows no boundaries of time. The truth about Angela is revealed eventually and will leave the reader shocked. A wonderful second book in the Tennessee Waltz series, this is as heart warming as the first. The reader will feel the pain and the love of each character through their journey of discovery and hats off to the author for making that possible.
The characters are well thought out and though not perfect, they are easy to relate to making the reader believe that they truly exist in the world created by the author. The author describes the setting and places with the right amount of detail making it easy to imagine it all.

In Book 2, Kiss Me, I'm Yours, Sophie time travels to the past to get away from the reality of her sucky cheating boyfriend. Both stories are the "can't put down" love, action, drama, fantasy type that every girl wants to read. So freaking GOOD! Attacked as soon as she has been transported by what she thinks to be Civil War re-enactors, then rescued and taken in, cared for by the town outcast, Sophie has to come to the realization that she is in fact in another time I was just living the story, feeling all the emotions right along with Sophie and all the pain for Gabriel.
Rooting for them to be together the whole time, sad when she kept wanting to get back home, not realizing all along she belonged with him. The answer to her prayers was right in front of her. But, it has got to be tough, without the modern conveniences Let's find LIAM!!! May 25, Teresa J. An unusual time travel story I liked that this story focused on the anguish that time travel could cause.
The woman, Sophie who time traveled, didn't belong in the post Civil War time that she found herself. She couldn't really settle in and belongbut she met a man who really needed her and she fell for him.Kiss me am yours
